‘Twas the Night Before Christmas–Marine Style

Just saw this in a link in my email today:

Merry Christmas, My Friend

'Twas the night before Christmas, he lived all alone,
In a one-bedroom house made of plaster and stone.
I had come down the chimney, with presents to give
and to see just who in this home did live.

As I looked all about, a strange sight I did see,
no tinsel, no presents, not even a tree.
No stocking by the fire, just boots filled with sand.
On the wall hung pictures of a far distant land.

With medals and badges, awards of all kind,
a sobering thought soon came to my mind.
For this house was different, unlike any I’d seen.
This was the home of a U.S. Marine.

I’d heard stories about them, I had to see more,
so I walked down the hall and pushed open the door.
And there he lay sleeping, silent, alone,
Curled up on the floor in his one-bedroom home.

He seemed so gentle, his face so serene,
Not how I pictured a U.S. Marine.
Was this the hero, of whom I’d just read?
Curled up in his poncho, a floor for his bed?

His head was clean-shaven, his weathered face tan.
I soon understood, this was more than a man.
For I realized the families that I saw that night,
owed their lives to these men, who were willing to fight.

Soon around the Nation, the children would play,
And grown-ups would celebrate on a bright Christmas day.

They all enjoyed freedom, each month and all year,
because of Marines like this one lying here.

I couldn’t help wonder how many lay alone,
on a cold Christmas Eve, in a land far from home.
Just the very thought brought a tear to my eye.
I dropped to my knees and I started to cry.

He must have awoken, for I heard a rough voice,
“Santa, don’t cry, this life is my choice
I fight for freedom, I don’t ask for more.
My life is my God, my country, my Corps.”

With that he rolled over, drifted off into sleep,
I couldn’t control it, I continued to weep.

I watched him for hours, so silent and still.
I noticed he shivered from the cold night’s chill.
So I took off my jacket, the one made of red,
and covered this Marine from his toes to his head.
Then I put on his T-shirt of scarlet and gold,
with an eagle, globe and anchor emblazoned so bold.
And although it barely fit me, I began to swell with pride,
and for one shining moment, I was Marine Corps deep inside.

I didn’t want to leave him so quiet in the night,
this guardian of honor so willing to fight.
But half asleep he rolled over, and in a voice clean and pure,
said “Carry on, Santa, it’s Christmas Day, all secure.”
One look at my watch and I knew he was right,

Merry Christmas my friend, Semper Fi and goodnight

66th Rant: Brett Kimberlin and the moment of truth

Today is the final countdown for Brett Kimberlin. For those of you who remember my 41st rant from May 25th in regards to Brett Kimberlin (aka the Speedway Bomber) then you are probably wondering why it has taken me 25 rants to dedicate a full rant on him. Well, for one thing there was an election to worry about and I had promised that after the election I would devote my time to the Kimberlin affair. Now I had made scant mentions of Kimberlin in various news posts of December 3rd, November 27th, and November 19th. However, I felt that now would be a good time to make a full post about Kimberlin, especially as I had seen from W.J.J. Hoge in Hogewash! that the case Walker v. Kimberlin, et al. is being heard today in Federal Court in Manassas, Virginia, at 10 AM Eastern. I know that the highly respected Mr. Hoge is going to be in the courtroom covering it, and when word comes down from the court through Hogewash, I will talk about it not only on this blog but also <shamelessplug>on my radio show Red, Right, and Blue this Saturday at 1:30 PM on BlogTalk Radio under the Conservative Nation Radio banner, as well as a short blurb on it on Nobamanation (another Conservative Nation Radio show) this Thursday at 8 PM Eastern.<shamelessplug>

And for those of you who are new to my blog and wondering who Brett Kimberlin is, check out the following links:

(This is just the tip of the Brett Kimberlin iceberg. I will work on more and post it all up here on a page dedicated solely to him.)

Good Thanksgiving Entertainment

So you had a good Thanksgiving meal with the family and want to find some entertainment, but you are not a football fan and you have seen all of the marathons on TV already. Plus there are the same old songs on the radio that you have heard 100 to 200 times. What is a person to do?

Luckily, there are a couple of good shows on the computer tonight. Conservative Nation Radio and Own The Narrative have 4 hours of quality talk entertainment for you.

Beginning at 6 PM Eastern, 3 PM Pacific, Billie Cotter and Rick Bulow bring you a very special Thanksgiving episode of Nobamanation. There will be a reading of George Washington’s Thanksgiving proclamation as well as the True Story of Thanksgiving from Rush Limbaugh’s radio show yesterday as well as from his second best selling book See I Told You So. This is the story that many had not heard of before in the government schools. They will also speak on what they are thankful for and many other things.

Then at 8 PM Eastern, 5 PM Pacific, Rick Bulow will move over to Own The Narrative and co-host a very special Thanksgiving show with Becca Lower of Lowering The Boom. Rick will read the same Story of Thanksgiving that he had read on Nobamanation and then sometime toward the end of the 8 PM hour they will welcome Lee Stranahan of Breitbart. Lee had just started putting out a newsletter called Creative Conservative. He was also a part of Occupy Unmasked and worked with Andrew Breitbart so they will be talking about that as well.

So if you are looking for some quality entertainment tonight, tune into your computer for four hours of quality conservative fun, brought to you by Conservative Nation Radio and Own The Narrative.

65th Rant: The Greatest Danger to Our Freedom

TytlerCircle

Here is a very interesting piece that Blake Stephens had posted in The Patriot Zone.

Some of you print notices to groups of folk. My hope is that ALL of you will read to the last line of this email and if you do believe that this man of wisdom, Alexander Tyler in 1787, hit the nail on the head with his statement about Democracies, you will share this information with your clientele and friends. Even tho’ we have a representative republic, I think it does apply to America today –
PS> Amazing statistics on the recent election, too.
This is the most interesting thing I've read in a long time. The sad thing about it, you can see it coming.
I have always heard about this democracy countdown.. It is interesting to see it in print. God help us, not
that we deserve it.

How Long Do We Have?
About the time our original thirteen states adopted their
new constitution in 1787, Alexander Tyler, a
Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years earlier:
'A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply
cannot exist as a permanent form of government.'
'A democracy will continue to exist up until the time
that voters discover they can vote themselves
generous gifts from the public treasury.'
' From that moment on, the majority always vote for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal
policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.'
'The average age of the world's greatest civilizations
from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years'
'During those 200 years, those nations always progressed
through the following sequence:
1. from bondage to spiritual faith;
2. from spiritual faith to great courage;
3. from courage to liberty;
4. from liberty to abundance;
5. from abundance to complacency;
6. from complacency to apathy;
7. from apathy to dependence;
8. from dependence back into bondage'

Professor Joseph Olson of Hemline University School of Law, St. Paul, Minnesota points out some interesting facts concerning the 2008 Presidential election:
Number of States won by:
Democrats: 19
Republicans: 29
Square miles of land won by:
Democrats: 580,000
Republicans: 2,427,000
Population of counties won by:
Democrats: 127 million
Republicans: 143 million
Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by:
Democrats: 13.2
Republicans: 2.1
Professor Olson adds: 'In aggregate, the map of the territory Republican won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of this great country. Democrat territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in government-owned tenements and living off various forms of government welfare...' Olson believes the United States is somewhere between  the 'complacency and apathy' phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation's
population already having reached the 'governmental
dependency' phase.
If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty
million criminal invaders called illegal's and they
vote, then we can say goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years.
If you are in favor of this, then by all means, delete
this message. If you are not, then pass this along
to help everyone realize just how much is at stake,
knowing that apathy is the greatest danger to our
freedom.

Even though the piece Blake posted had mentioned the numbers from the 2008 election, I think we can see it more with the 2012 election which put Obama back in office on the backs of the mooches, leaches, and parasites of this nation. Those people are the ones who Neal Boortz calls the “Dumbass dumb masses” who do not care about politics or if they do, it is only for 4 months and then only want a handout and not a hand up.

I had mentioned in past blog entries that Atlas is shrugging right now, and if we do not do anything that the weight of the world will cause Atlas to throw it off of his shoulders. I am thinking that when we reach the final stage of Tytler’s circle (from dependence back into bondage) that it will be too late for this country as we know it. Obama and the Democrats are fiddling while America is burning.

64th Rant: Obama owns it now!

ObamaMessI came across this WONDERFUL post by Janice Thomas in The Patriot Zone on Facebook today.

Just read this post from a man named John....he posted on a story I read about how food pantry request have went up 400%........ I LOVE THIS POST!!!.......................................Congratulations to the Democrats and Young People! You now own it and you can't blame Bush.
The next terrorist attack you own it.
Can't get a job after graduation, you own it.
Sky rocketing energy prices due to Obama's EPA shutting down the energy producing states, you own it.
A nuclear Iran, you own it.
Bowing to Russia, you own it.
Another severe recession, you own it.
A volatile border with Mexico, you own it.
Trouble getting good health care, you own it.
Higher health insurance costs and health care costs, you own it.
No budget, you own it.
Our allies mistrust, you own it.
Another trillion of debt, you own it.
More Benghazi situations, you own it.
No one willing to join the military, you own it.
Trouble getting a loan to buy a home, you own it.
More dependency on food stamps, you own it.
Trouble finding good employment, you own it.
Several part time jobs instead of a good job, you own it.
A World Government, you own it.
The UN governing the United States instead of ourselves, you own it.
A Senate that will not bring any legislation to the table even if it is "Dead on Arrival", you own it.

Loss of our freedoms as we have known it in the past, you own it.
A dictatorship instead of a democracy that follows the Constitution, you own it.

More government corruption and lies, you own it.
More toleration of extreme and fanatical Islamists, you own it.
Terrorist attacks called work place incidents, you own it.
Your revenge instead of love of country, you own it.
President George Bush is out of it now, and there is not another good man for you to vilify and lie about. In a way I am relieved that another good man will not be blamed when it was impossible to clean up this mess you voted for. Have a good day. God bless the United States! God is our hope now.

What Janice said is so very true. There is no one for Obama to blame now, as much as he would like to try. He has been in office 4 years now and he has a record. In fact, it is his record which would have caused him to LOSE the election on November 6, but many had not voted or voted third party which allowed him to remain in office. No matter what Obama does now, he has nobody to blame but himself for everything bad happening to America, and I only hope that in 2014 Americans will see that and give the Republicans a clean majority in the Senate and then in 2016 give the Republican nominee a clean win in the White House. Then and ONLY then do I think we can return America to it’s first principles found in the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence!
