Ninth Rant: The Terri Schiavo Issue (Part 4)
I have heard some conservative talk radio hosts compare killing Terri Schiavo, who is indeed in a persistent vegetative state as the doctors and others who looked at this case have said, to Adolf Hitler and the Nazi regime during the 1930's and 1940's. They are tottally off base saying such. The politicians should not have gotten involved in the situation as this is a private matter within the family. Terri had left this life 15 years ago and that should have been the end of it. She has earned her reward. The Nazis had eliminated those that THEY had determined would not benefit in their regime. They might have even kept some of those who had limited motor skills. Terri has no motor skills. Her cerebral cortex is liquified. She has the same look all the time. It is time to let nature take its course and let her die in peace. If you want the real reason why Terri should die, go to Neal's Nuze at boortz.com or read Neal Boortz' column at townhall.com
Eighth Rant: The Terri Schiavo Issue (Part 3)
It continues to baffle me how the Pro-Life crowd is still using Terri Schiavo's misery to further their own political gains. Terri is in pain not because she has not eaten but rather because inside she is screaming to let her die in peace. I sympathize with the parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, in this situation but the doctors and courts have ruled, and it is likely the Supreme Court will not get involved in this as they have done so 2 or 3 times in the past. The parents should stand back and let Terri die so she can be in a better place with no pain.

Seventh Rant: The Terri Schiavo Issue (Part 2)
Earlier this morning the House of Representatives voted to reinsert Terri Schiavo's feeding tube. In my opinion, the Congress should not have gotten involved in the situation, as they have more important things to worry about. I feel that Michael Schiavo has more rights than the parents, though I sympathize with the parents on this one. In Genesis 2:24, it says that the man "will leave his father and mother and be united with his wife, and they will become one flesh." Therefore, the parents lost all rights to how she should be taken care of when she married Michael. This is a matter for the States, and they had their say, so that should be good. I know she did not have a living will, but as I mentioned in my last rant, should what a married couple say be just as good?

Sixth Rant: The Terri Schiavo Issue
Earlier today Judge George Greer of the 2nd Circuit Court of Florida ordered that Terri Schiavo's feeding tube be removed and it was done. Now I am a Pro-Life Copnservative Republican, but unlike others who are of my ilk I feel that we should have just let her die. She had told her husband prior to her cardiac arrest in 1990 that she would not want to live witrh feeding and/or respritory tubes and should she be hooked up to them and not recover that he should pull the tubes. When he tried to remove them in the past he was denied by Terri's parents. The parents had lost all rights when Terri married Michael Schiavo. Terri was in a persistent vegetative state and could breathe but not eat on her own. I totally understand why the parents had fought Michael on this issue and also that Terri did not have a living will, but is not the word between a married couple as good as any living will?

Fifth Rant: The Senate and the Judicial System
Since President Bush was reelected in November, we had been hearing a lot of talk from both Republicans and Democrats in the Senate about judicial nominations. First, Judiciary Committee Chairman Arlen Specter (Republican from Pennsylvania) said that Bush had better not nominate any controversial judges to federal posts, only to recant his statement after criticism from his constituents and fellow Republicans in the Senate . Then most recently we hear talk about the Republicans employing a Constitutional option to block any Democratic filibusters. It's ironic that the Democrats moaned and whined about the filibuster when they were in control of the Senate and now they want to protect the very thing they complained about. One of Rush Limbaugh's 35 Undeniable Truths of life says that Liberals attempt through judicial activism what they cannot win at the ballot box, number 26 of 35. I totally agree with that Truth of Life. The Democrats are so eager to regain control of Congress that they'll do anything to accomplish their goal. When the Republicans employ the Constitutional option, that will be the death knell for the Democratic Party as we know it.

Fourth Rant: Social Security Privatization
During President Bush's State of the Union address on February 2, 2005, he said that he will strengthen and save Social Security by creating private accounts. I am totally in favor of it for the simple reason that Social Security is heading in a downward spiral. The only people in opposition to it are the Democrats, who just recently said that they are willing to reform Social Security only if Bush removes private accounts from the equation, and the American Association of Retired People. Their objections to privatizing Social Security are totally unfounded. In the 1990's, Bill Clinton and other Democrats said that Social Security is in a crisis and needs to be saved, but did nothing to rectify the situation. Now that Bush, who does what he says he is going to do, has a plan to fix Social Security, the Democrats are ballistic. The Democrats only want to control Social Security, and they can't do so if people put some of their Social Security money in a private account. We need to contact our Senators and Congressmen and tell them to support the Bush plan to privatize Social Security.

Third Rant: Iraq and the War on Terror
Many people say that President Bush ignored the war on terror by going into Iraq and toppling Saddam Hussein's regime. That is so far from the truth it is unbelievable. Many of the same people also say that Bush lied about Iraq holding Weapons of Mass Destruction. That is also far from the truth. Saddam had used WMD's on his own people dating back to 1987. In my opinion. the first president Bush should have told the combined military forces during Operation Desert Storm to keep going and not stop until Saddam was captured. If that had happened, I think the attacks on New York and Washington on September 11, 2001, would not have taken place. The current president Bush is doing a good job handling the war on terror, and will bring democracy to the Middle East as well as the rest of the terrorist-held world. We need to support him in this cause.
Second Rant: The Federal Tax System
Every year about this time, we see income tax companies like H&R Block and Jackson Hewitt open more offices all over the nation looking to take all payroll and income taxes that the workers have made and put it in the pockets of the federal government. This is not only unfair but it is also wrong. The only way to prevent the fat cats in the government from getting their hands on the hard-earned money the people make is for Congress to do 2 things:
1. Propose a constitutional amendment to abolish the 16th amendment.
2. Have hearings on and vote to pass the Fair Tax Plan (H.R. 25) which Republican Congressman John Linder of Georgia had introduced.
The current Federal tax system is outdated and full of inaccuracies. We need to scrap it in favor of the Fair Tax. In order to have the Fair Tax enacted we as American citizens need to do 5 things:
1. Contact our Congressmen by phone, letter, or email, convincing them that the Fair Tax is a lot better than our current tax system.
2. Write letters to the editors of our local newspapers, extolling the virtues of the Fair Tax.
3. Contact as many talk radio shows as possible, telling the hosts about the Fair Tax and encouraging them to talk about it more.
4. Contact as many of our friends and neighbors as possible, telling them all that we had learned or are continuing to learn about the Fair Tax.
5. Continue to do research on the Fair Tax so we can have something to tell to those we contact.
Once the Fair Tax is enacted we won't continue to be stressed out during this time to make sure the Income Tax forms are mailed in by April 15th at midnight. Most importantly, we will get to keep every penny earned in our paycheck and not have the government reach into our pockets and take it for their own use.

First Rant: Coverage of Martha Stewart's release from prison
In the news lately we had been hearing a lot about Martha Stewart being set free from prison. I can see the news channels broadcasting her release and then moving on to other news, but do they have to spend 5 hours on her being released? Also, and I have not watched the news at all this morning, but do we have to be subjected to seeing her ugly mug on TV everywhere, even to the point of having to hear about her going to her office? I mean, come on. There are other interesting items in the news today, such as the Fair Tax Bill which Congressman John Linder of Georgia has introduced. We need to focus more on what is happening in our government than what the celebrities are doing.
